Dewa 19 Concert At GBK Stadium Was Witnessed By 85,000 People, Presenting 30 Songs With A Duration Of Three Hours On Stage
GLOBAL DIGITAL TIMES | Jakarta August 12, 2023 will be remembered by Dewa 19 as one of the historical moments in the journey of 30 years of playing music. On that date, Dewa 19 successfully performed at the Bung Karno Stadium (GBK).
The Dewa 19 concert at the GBK Stadium was held with the concept of Dewa 19 feat All Stars . As the name implies, it's not just Dewa 19 who appears to entertain on stage. They invited a number of other musicians.
Call it Lyodra, Sandhy Sondoro, Tyo Nugros, Ari Lasso and Virzha from the ranks of local musicians. From the line up of world musicians, Dewa 19 brought in Derek Sherinian (former Dream Theater keyboardist), Richie Kotzen (guitarist Poison and Mr. Big), Richie Sambora (guitarist Bon Jovi) and Dino Jelusic (vocalist White Snake).
With the format of this line of musicians, the band formed by Ahmad Dhani has succeeded in spoiling its fans who come from across generations. Approximately 85 thousand spectators flooded the GBK stadium to sing along and at the same time repeat memories with the songs of this band from Surabaya.
Dewa 19 pampers the audience with a number of big hits. In the first segment, the audience was bombarded with songs such as "Cukup Siti Nurbaya", "I Want to Breakfree", "There Will Be No Other Love", "Prince of Love" and "Wind"
Young singers Lyodra and Sandhy Sondoro appeared as a surprise presented by Dewa 19 at the start of their performance. Lyodra performed three of Dewa 19's hit songs entitled "Sedang Want to Make Love", "So Wrong, So Right" and "I Swear I Love You".
While Sandhy Sondoro received a standing ovation from the audience when he sang the songs "Mystic of Love", "Two Lovebirds" and "Life Is a Struggle"
World Music Performance
Done with the first segment. Dewa 19 continued its performance by presenting foreign musicians in the second segment. In this segment, the audience couldn't help but sing along.
Throughout the performances of world musicians, long choirs and the sight of the audience singing along became inevitable moments. World musicians performed the songs "Arjuna", "Somebody to Love", "Highway to Hell" and "Jump"
In the "Bohemian Rhapsody" section popularized by Queen, world musicians present a luxurious and magnificent musical performance. Ahmad Dhani became the most highlighted icon because he succeeded in presenting this captivating collaboration of world musicians.
85 Thousand Camera Lights
The third segment has finally arrived. In this segment, Dewa 19 was recorded as appearing for three hours on stage. A total of 30 hits by Dewa 19, were performed in front of 85 thousand spectators who were present at the GBK Stadium.
Ari Lasso revealed that there was certainty about the number of spectators reaching 85 thousand. When singing the song "Kangen", Ari Lasso asked the audience to turn on their camera lights. "I want to be accompanied by 85 thousand flashlights tonight," said Ari Lasso before singing the song that made the name Dewa 19 widely known in the world of national music.
At the end of the performance, all the singers who had appeared on the Dewa 19 feat All Stars stage were invited back to the stage. Including world musicians who appeared in the second segment. They closed the magnificent and luxurious concert appearance with the song "We Are The Champion"
